Southampton International Boat Show 2026: Why Lymington is the Perfect Base for Britain’s Biggest Boating Festival

Every September, the South Coast comes alive with one of the UK’s most anticipated marine events – the Southampton International Boat Show. Returning from 18–27 September 2026, the ten-day festival brings together thousands of boating enthusiasts, watersports lovers and families to celebrate everything the marine world has to offer. With more than 700 marine brands, hundreds of boats on display and plenty of opportunities to get out on the water, it’s an unmissable event for anyone with a passion for life on the sea.

While Southampton is the home of the show, many visitors choose to stay in Lymington – enjoying the charm of one of the Solent’s most beautiful harbour towns before or after their visit.

Held at Mayflower Park on Southampton’s waterfront, the Southampton International Boat Show is Britain’s flagship boating festival. Whether you’re looking to buy your first boat, compare the latest yachts, discover marine technology or simply enjoy a fantastic day out by the water, there’s something for everyone.

Visitors can expect:

  • Hundreds of sailing yachts, motorboats and RIBs
  • The latest marine technology and equipment
  • Paddleboarding, kayaking and on-water experiences included with admission
  • Expert talks from leading sailors and industry professionals
  • Live music, street food and waterfront entertainment
  • Family activities throughout the event
  • Opportunities to meet marine brands from across the world

The show continues to grow each year, attracting around 100,000 visitors and cementing its reputation as one of Europe’s premier boating events. There’s plenty to discover at the show this September, and their handy Show Guides will help you find the highlights you won’t want to miss. Whether you’re buying your first boat, looking to upgrade or improve your current one, or planning a great day out, find the boats, brands, activities, expert advice and entertainment to make the most of your visit.

Make a Weekend of It
