Thinking of visiting Lymington Harbour this summer? Don’t forget to head to our bustling High St for a spot of retail therapy. The High St is only a short stroll from our moorings and has an excellent selection of shops and designer boutiques to browse. Whilst you can access all the usual high street brands, Lymington is awash with excellent independent retailers selling clothing, homewares, gifts and more. Visit Elliotts, who have been proudly retailing the finest fashion, clothing footwear and accessories on the High St since 1873. Or take in one of our many art galleries: Chalks, The Salt Marsh Gallery or for something more abstract pop into Stephen Lee’s (on the cobbles).

Even better why not moor up on a Saturday and explore Lymington’s Charter Market which takes place on the High Street from 8am to approximately 3pm (weather dependent) and is one of the New Forest’s hidden gems.

The Lymington Charter Market has a history dating back to the mid-13th century when a charter granted the town the right to hold its own market. This allowed farmers, traders, and merchants to come from far and wide to sell their goods, and the market is still thriving today. The wide High Street was designed specifically to accommodate the market. 

With over sixty stalls selling a diverse range of goods including plants, local food produce, household goods, clothing, jewellery and local arts and crafts. With a broad range of delicious edible treats it is the perfect place to stock the boat up! Feast on olives, biltong, breads, cakes, pies, fruit and vegetables, cheese, locally caught fish from Coral Bay Seafoods you will be spoilt for choice.
