This collaborative statement between the Environment Agency and Lymington Harbour Commissioners sets out the intention of both parties to work collaboratively, to meet both the objectives of the Hurst Spit to Lymington Strategy and the conservancy duties of the Harbour Commissioners. Both parties recognise this statement is not legally binding in any way but is a shared intention to work together in the spirit of cooperation and collaboration.

The Hurst Spit to Lymington Flood and Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) Strategy is exploring a sustainable future for the coastline between Hurst Spit and Lymington in relation to all sources of flooding and coastal erosion. This is being developed by the Environment Agency, in partnership with New Forest District Council, Hampshire County Council, Natural England and with technical support from JBA Consulting.
